When my Electrolux Aptitude finally died, I replaced it with this Hoover after researching. I rely heavily on Consumer Reports. I wanted something decent that wouldn't cost me a fortune. With two adults in the house and no pets, this upright works great and is easy to adjust to the various carpet heights throughout the house. It's also easy to turn off the roller brush for hard floor sweeping. The other thing is it's light enough that I can carry it upstairs to take care of those floors. While there are a couple small changes I would make to where everything is located on the machine, I am pleased with this vacuum. I've had it just shy of four months.

I was on a long search for a vacuum that suited my budget and the household needs. I have a dog and a cat and heavy traffic flow. We previously had a bagless vacuum but I did not like it because it would blow dirty air back out and not hold in all the pet hair and did not have great suction. If you have a pet hair problem in your home, I would definitely look into a bagged vacuum. It helps with the allergies and usually bagged vacuums have a bigger suction hole to suck up all the dirt/hair. My only complaint would be that I should've gotten a self-powered vacuum, but for now I can appreciate the mini arm workout! :) also snagged the vacuum with coupons and kohls rewards! it worked out great for me.
Rated 1 out of 5Â by SHTOM Sorry Hoover... it is your worst model ever.
I have had this for over 1 year, a single person with a short haired dog. Beater bar is incredibly NOISY... Got rid of the Anniversary model for this and greatly regret it. The cornrow design of the brush also leaves markings in the carpet. IT is poorly designed in most ways that I use a vacuum, the tools placement and design at best poor. The suction is excellent, but depending on the carpet, will nosedive and eliminate motion. VERY DISAPPOINTING. I seriously can't believe you still offer this model (the Noise alone makes is a terrible choice) and that Consumer Reports still shows it with a favorable review (CR subscribers who have purchased it sure don't). After 40 years of Hoover's this will be my last.

Its hard enough to find a vacuum that cleans carpet but one that goes from carpet to tile has been impossible! This one has proven to do both! I'm impressed to say the least, I'm usually the one after first use returning my vacuum cause its horrible but this one made the cut. As for longevity that's to be determined but so far I'm loving my hoover!
