Rated 3 out of 5Â by idajo not enough serious knives
six steakknives - serrated edges, probably cut steak well, but we don't eat a lot of steak. I could have thought this through a bit more as to what I really need: knives for cooking and food prep. This is a nice, basic set, no doubt. The bread knife could stand to be a bit longer. I'd prefer another paring-type knife. But I'm glad there's no scissors. The sharpener is important. So it's a good starting set, a a good set for someone older who isn't into all that much cooking. This set looks as though it could withstand a dishwasher, tho to keep them looking good, hand wash them.
Rated 4 out of 5Â by AGTx Great quality as usual for Henckels
This was purchased to replace a Henckels knife set received as a gift in the mid 1980s. (The old set has served its purpose and was showing signs of discoloration and rust.) This knife set is adequate for most people and includes 6 steak knives. After using one of the steak knives, there was some minor discoloration from tomato stains, but a quick clean up with Bar Keeper's Friend returned it to normal. The handles are durable, but a little bland, which is why I gave a good rating for Style.
Rated 3 out of 5Â by Tubsy I have always had J.A. Henckels in my home. Unfortunately, they are not of the same quality as all my previous purchases at a different store. They are worth the money I paid, but next time I will purchase the brand at the previous store. Not sure if different stores have different qualities.

I cannot tell you how well these knives actually are because when I received them the knives were glued into the block. It was the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. It looked like a joke.
