I purchased this wine opener to replace one that had just worn out. I like that the blue color lights up when it is charging and it did open the wine bottles easily. I had to return the first one because the little charging plug would not stay tight and the light indicating charging kept going out. The exchange one seems to be fine. I rated this model down a bit because the plug goes into the opener itself, so you have to plug and unplug it every time you use it. The style of my old one had the plug in the base and you just removed the opener and never had to fool with the plug. I hope that Food Network can improve on this feature.

I want to love this wine opener and it dose work great, but the problem is that it doesn't hold a charge AT ALL! I don't want to leave it on the counter charging all the time even though it does glow a blue light when charging. I want to be about to use it for more than one bottle opening. Plus, when you first take it out of the box it has to charge for like 12 hours before the first use (just FYI if you were wanting to use it right away like I was.) If you open a bottle of wine every day then I think that you would get plenty of use out of it without charging it all the time.

My husband drinks a lot of red wine and wanted an automatic opener. I reviewed many openers and settled on this one because the ad said it opened synthetic and natural corks. It took overnight to charge initially and we have used it for 3 weeks (approx. 6 bottles opened). The opener lights up when using, putting a little extra fun in the process. I am not sure how long the charge will last, but I will say that it already seems to 'struggle' . My husband says, "it still opens the bottle", so he is happy.
