Rated 5 out of 5 Comfotable for running Comfortable running shoe. I have put in about 200 miles of running on this shoe. I bought the GT 2000-2 and am in the process of breaking those in. I still find the 1000s to be more comfortable than the grade up. I put in 9 miles this morning and felt no discomfort on my feet or my joints while I do have issues with my other shoes. I haven't had any problems with the material tearing or breaking. I notice the soles do change a lot but this is expected. I run a little unevenly and soles are quite asymmetrical from the other. They are a little bit heavy compared to my Nike Lunaglide+5 but this doesn't affect my running. 03/02/2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent in general! I bought these shoes in January when I was training for the Yuengling Virginia Beach marathon in March. I was concerned about make a switch as I was into about 18 mile runs on my longs days. The transition from my old Asics (some low-end gel asics from Hibbett's that I had well over 1000 miles on), could not have been smoother. The hip pain I had been experiencing as well pain on my heels from the old shoes cup digging in on my foot were immediately gone and I didn't even have to break them in. I have 400+ miles (with no pain) on these now and just ordered the Gel-Noosa Tri 8s. I hope to be as pleased as I was with these despite the reviews I've seen of the Nooosas on here. 07/23/2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Loved them... Until they ripped. I trained for and ran a half marathon in these shoes. I used them only for running and absolutely loved them. The neon pinkish color is great! It definitely increases visibility for road running! After running only about 250 miles in these shoes, the side of one shoe ripped out by the pinkie toe. Asics says their shoes should be replaced every 300-600 miles, and offers a 1 year warranty that covers manufacturing defect prior to the 300-600 mile mark. So, I filled out the form, mailed them back, and had a brand new pair of the GT-1000 2 on my doorstep within two weeks. I have been running in Asics brand shoes for years, generally running 20-30 miles per week. Most of my Asics shoes have far outlasted the 600 mile mark. Unfortunately the quality of these super comfy running shoes was poor. 11/06/2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Too Hard - Not enough support I love Asics, especially my Landreth ones. The GT series I am not a fan of. I know shoes need to be broken in a bit but these were so hard on the bottom of my feet. I've tried different inserts but can't run more then 1/2 a mile before my feet start to hurt. Also, there is no arch support, so if you have flat feet and prefer a "hard" shoe bottom, then these are the shoes for you. I'm actually surprised someone would say they were not durable as they seem very well constructed and dense. 09/17/2013
