I bought this blender because it had the Single Serve feature. I had a small single serve blender that I thought worked well until trying the Ninja. I can blend my smoothies in seconds! And I never have ice, fruit or veggie chunks like I did with my previous blender. My biggest issue with my full size blender was that everything would get stuck in the bottom and I would have to stop, stir stuff to the top and blend again. I do not have to do this with the Ninja pitcher. Another great feature--it is SO much easier to clean than my old blenders!! Overall, a great purchase!!

We appreciate the power of the motor and the sturdiness of the unit. We also like the size of the jar; however, like I read in some reviews, the smoothies turn out somewhat grainy instead of smooth like a regular blender. We've tried it thicker and thinner with the same results each time, and there seems to be more of the ingredients splashed all over the sides and under the lid than in regular blenders, although that may be due to the shape of the jar and the power of the motor.
So not a bad product, but we will probably return it to find something more to our liking.

The Ninja is an average blender. The large blender container has an elongated blade with three levels of blades on it. This is nice for crushing ice and choppin but it does not make very smooth smoothies. Once you get it all chopped up, however, pouring the mixture into one of the single serving cups and using the single serving cup blade, you can get the texture of the beverage much smoothier. For example...I don't like kale but I put it in my smoothies for health benefits. The large cup just chops the kale very small. I need it totally smooth so I don't feel the texture or taste the kale. The single serve cup takes care of that!

Not a good investment AT ALL. It worked great for 1 year, then broke apart and failed to function. We used it in our home for smoothies only, frozen fruit and fresh fruit, so nothing really crazy and not more than 5 times a week - i would expect a kitchen appliance to last longer than one year. I am looking into the possibility of getting a replacement, as we did spend a good bit of money on it in the first place. IF you buy this, keep the receipt, box and paperwork on hand for the first couple of years, we did not - so it might be harder to get a replacement.
