Please do not buy this. First, we ordered the espresso and it was almost black. That was the best part even though we were hoping for the true espresso color.
It arrived with 3 corners crushed and the laminate peeling off. There were 3 deep scratches on the top and sides.
The directions are wrong.
The piece is wobbly even after putting on the back cardboard (yes, cardboard) pieces. The cardboard was not cut large enough so you can see the gaps from the front.
The dowels supplied were very tiny and did not fit in the pre-drilled holes snugly. Another reason the unit wobbles.
There is no way this piece of junk can bear the weight of the number of CDs and DVDs as claimed.
Totally cheap and not even worth $10. We're going to burn it if Kohl's won't take it back.

With most DIY assembly, it's a hit or miss. This was definitely a miss. When completely assembled, the interlocks didn't hold and the entire bookcase is wobbly and not very sturdy. The holes also didn't line up. I considered going out to buy screws and just screw it all together but that seemed like a waste of time. I returned the product to Kohls. A big disappointment. This is one of those, you get what you pay for situations.

generally good for the price, stores TONS of media, and very flexible as far as moving around shelves for decor. Very thin to the wall, so fits in tight spaces. Won't hold any wide books or large decor though. not a problem for me since it really is for mostly media. Only a little complicated to put together. Only one chip or so that was easily covered.

I just got this and put it together today. Four shelves came with the corners crushed but there are a lot of shelves so I can live with it. It is not overly difficult to put together except the lock screws are garbage. They did not lock the screws properly and when you add pressure to attempt to secure them, they buckle and get stripped. It's ridiculous and therefore the whole shelf system isn't stable. I will have to go out and get replacement hardware.
I like the design but it's such low quality for the price. The back is the regular old particle board, which is fine, but it has old cheap tape on it and mine was dried out and peeling off and got stuck in the cracks so they are even more very visible from the front than normal. Just overall disappointment for how much this thing costs, I bought a bookshelf that is beautiful quality and not much smaller for half the price, it even had the same hardware (the lock screws) and I had no problems! Next time I will just build one myself based on the design but with higher quality materials and save myself some money.
