Great concept but didn't deliver. Pennies and nickels kept going into the wrong chute. I had to dump the coins out to get them into the roll ... defeats the purpose. Time waster instead of time saver.

i am normally not one to write reviews, but this coin sorter is one of my most used Christmas purchases so far. It has only been a month so far, but it has done the job well and counted over $60 in loose change that I have had lying around. As long as you take your time and slowly feed it a small handful at a time, it should do fine. It does have a empty area inside the coin catcher that if you put too many coins in at once, does seem to let coins fall inside it, but you can usually get them back out by turning it upside down and shaking it a bit. It does seem to be a design flaw, but at this price point I feel it is adequate for my needs and I am considering getting another for my brother as a gift.

Not Happy at all with the Coin Sorter....we did return this item.
First, the quality is pretty poor, and cheap. Not well made, cheap plastic, battery door didn't fit correctly, some loose plastic rattling around inside, and the coin tubes didn't fit in the holder correctly....
Second, the coins got stuck above the tubes, the wrong coins went into the wrong tubes, and the tubes scrapped the front of the machine when you swung them out to empty the tubes....
Third, it's Huge!!! I guess that's it's 'Style'? But it takes up Way Too much room, and half the size of the machine has no function, other than takes up space....
Final determination....still had to hand count the coins to verify the amounts, and hand roll the coins from the tubes, so we might as well roll coins by hand for free!
Returned the coin sorter!

I bought four of these coinsorter banks, one for each of our kids for christmas. They are pretty basic, which is actually what I was looking for, but they are functional. The kids have used them over and over, with minimal, if any, errors. I would recommend these to anyone with kids who have a lot of change and need a bank. My only complaint is that the quarter rolls that come with it are very tight, and they don't seem standard for rolling the change.
