We enjoyed this coffee grinder for just over a hear. It's noisy, so we usually ground the coffee the night before to avoid waking late sleepers in the morning. It worked fine until this morning when I refilled the hopper and hit the start switch. It started but nothing came out. Smoke came out of the bottom, and I unplugged it. Not sure what happened, but the upshot is that I have to buy another grinder. I hesitate to be too negative about this unit, because it worked so well until today. I'm not sure what went wrong. I kept it clean and did not mistreat it. Might be that mine was flawed. I just wish the flaw had become evident before the warranty expired.
Rated 5 out of 5Â by PJFletcher Compact, convenient, contemporary
Having used only rotary blade bean grinders in the past, I was more than ready to upgrade to a burr grinder. The only thing holding me back was the cost. Burr grinders can be expensive. When I saw this product on the shelf at Kohl's, I gave it a good once over -- could a burr grinder in this price range stand up to daily use? It appeared to be sturdy, easy to clean and easy to use. Now that I have it in my home, I have found that it is, indeed, the product I hoped it to be. The two features I most appreciate: I can choose the size of the grind from 18 different settings, and I can select how much coffee to grind by the number of cups I will be brewing. I am glad that I purchased this product.

This was a good machine while it lasted, but it only lasted for 23 months. The warranty is 18 months. It just made a big "POP" and then the smell of a burned out motor wafted my way. We took it apart and a capacitor inside blew off. It ground the coffee well, but it also left a lot of powdery coffee in the container. Also, since the container is plastic, it was staticky and small particles of coffee would fly out. It did look stylish sitting on the counter though.
Rated 4 out of 5Â by Lheat Good product
I can walk away while it grinds. Of course it makes noise, it is a grinder! There is no mess, as you shouldn't wash it very often, coffee is not a perishable food. The container the ground coffee falls into is a little awkward, needs a handle or something. Like most products, the engineer who designs it should have to use it for a while.
