These gusseted bags are a bit trickier than the normal ones but I haven't had any problems with them. I had seen the other comments about it before I bought them, and they are marked that you need five extra inches of roll to make sure they seal. They were really cheap too. I just make sure there's no wrinkles when I go to seal them. I haven't had one fail to seal yet. They can fit much bigger things than the normal rolls and still fit in my regular sealer.

I thought I was buying the regular vacuum bags, I did not realize expandable meant pleated, these monstrous bags are completely useless to me.

I've used a lot of different types of food storage bags but the FoodSaver bags are the best yet. The zipper-lock bags tend to break at the corners of the opening and some do poorly in the freezer. Some other brands of heat-seal bags are too stiff and have to be sealed twice to ensure a solid seal. The FoodSaver bags with their pleats allow a better fill, they seal on the first heat and I have had no problems with their becoming brittle in sub-zero freezing. I've found they take a better vacuum than I was able to achieve with other brands and, overall, I'm happier with them than I've been with any other brand or type freezer bags.

I have used a Foodsaver for many years. I still have clothing vacuum packed in a bag from the early 1990's. We used to go fishing a lot, and kept dry clothing with us. As for food, it is wonderful. Vacuum pack cheese, buy meat in bulk and freeze, open a large can of whatever and vacuum pack the leftover part. A big moneysaver...
