From the start, this grinder was a disappointment. Initially, I experienced the problem with coffee grounds all over the place, even when I followed the tips to grind the night before, tapped the container before opening, etc. Then I realized that the wheel to adjust grind size was erratic at best. The cover for the coffee bean reservoir has no fastener and fell off at the worst moments. Finally, the motor gave out, even though I was only grinding four tablespoons of coffee about every other day. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS GRINDER. Btw, the warranty is one year, and it of course died after about a year and a half.
Follow-Up: After contacting Kohl's today, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they do stand behind the products they sell. This has helped make this a much less awful experience.

I wanted a grinder that would grind finely for espresso AND coarsely for French press. This was my 3rd attempt, having returned the 2 previous, both of which were considerably less $$ than this one. Once again I find I get what I pay for-- this one can grind finely enough for espresso, which was the problem with the other 2. I have no complaints about design. It's also quieter than my last one and WAY quieter than my 1st one. If it was less $$ it would be perfect. Oh well. I am keeping it anyway!

I wanted a grinder that would run automatically. This one is very messy! They sent a little brush with it but it is hard to keep track of. It is messy to remove and the lid is always coated. I would have designed it to top feed and perhaps made of a glass carafe for the grounds. I wind up wiping loose grinds off the counter with every use!

Please do yourself a favor and listen to the reviews when they say this is messy! It makes an incredible mess... Mounds of coffee fall out. I love it otherwise but have to spend 5 min cleaning big clumps of coffee that fall out. Pure design flaws.
