Rated 5 out of 5Â by Warm Barn Owner Great Heavy Duty Fan!
Lovely to see such great design and workmanships still present in an American product. The fan moves air well and without a lot of noise. Build quality and ruggedness is excellent.

733 purchased 2003 for bedroom use, doing well. 293 purchased 2004 for barn use to keep bugs off horse, continuous use from May or June to September or October every year. Front bearing started making noise in 2010 so I lubed it even though Vornado says it does not need it, and runs fine now. Maybe the model that year did not have bearings, or the wear is an anomoly? A second 293 just purchased July 2011 for our second horse and it does seem to have much more power. I got tired of fooling around with cheap fans so that why I get Vornados.

I have had Patton fans most of my life but I hated the high pitched hum it generates, so I chose this fan and couldn't be happier. It's super light, has a very safe covering over the blades, soft almost whisper low mode, medium and high are more like white noise...it's no more noisy than my current tower fan on medium and high, the size is medium, easy to put on the wall brackets. I bought this fan to cool the second floor of my house, I have had it running 24/7 since I received it and haven't had to turn on the air conditioner yet. I keep my windows closed all day when it is 90 plus temperatures outside and the maximum inside temps in the low 80's, once the windows are opened to cooler outside temperatures the fan pulls all the hot air out of the second floor within the hour dropping the temperature to low 70's. I love this fan.

I have 2 other vornado "fans" which work well. I wanted one more mobile one to move easily around the house. The handle on this makes it convenient, but I do not think that it is a strong plastic. Tme will tell. The turn off and on is easier to reach than on the one without a handle.
