What The Pros Know:

  • For the most flavorful cup of tea, use water that is slightly below boiling. Brewing time for tea depends on the size of the tea leaf—smaller green tea leaves will generally infuse faster than larger black tea leaves, taking less time to brew.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Surprised by the color! I purchased this teakettle mostly for the "vintage hue" (green), which looked beautiful online. When I opened the box, I was shocked to see the actual color. It's so dark and unusual, and borderline ugly, in my opinion. I even left it on the counter for a day to see if the color would grow on me, but it just got worse. I liked the design, and the quality was alright, but the color was not even close to what I was expecting. I returned the kettle, so I cannot comment on its performance. 03/15/2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Piece of junk I purchased this tea kettle 6 weeks ago. I was replacing a 15 year old Calphalon anodized kettle, which, for some reason, is no longer made, because it was getting pitted inside from hard water. I should have held onto that kettle! This kettle started to rust on the stainless steel trim from the second week. No matter how carefully I tried to open the spout cover, boiling water always splattered out onto my hand. Two days ago, the pin ,holding the spring which moves the spout cover, fell out. I have NO IDEA who makes a decent tea kettle! Before purchasing this one, I spent hours looking at negative reviews of countless tea kettles: some that were twice the price of this one. I gave up and bought this one because they all sounded bad, and at least this one wasn't super expensive. I expected it to last a LITTLE longer than it did !!! 03/11/2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love the look and feel... I had received this tea kettle as a gift and loved it. However, when I dropped it and tried to find a replacement, I was unable to locate in several stores and had to purchase online. While I love the tea kettle, I was disappointed that I could not find in the stores and had to pay shipping in order to get the kettle I wanted. 03/16/2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Splatters! This teakettle looks great, but is terrible at pouring water. Two different people could not get it to pour decently, and water splatters out uncontrollably. Do not recommend. 03/26/2014
