We purchased a set of Noritake Colorwave dishes a few years ago and use them every day. We bought them because we liked the color and design. However, I'm very unsatisfied with the dark scratches that are constantly appearing on the shiny part of the surface. I use Bar Keeper's Friend to polish the dishes periodically and also whenever we're having guests. What a pain! I've never had this problem with other dishes that we've owned over the years. I resent having to keep polishing off the scratches to keep them looking nice. I read Noritake's response to other comments reguarding the scratches being due to several causes but I own other types of dishes and the scratches don't occur on them. As for me, I feel as though I'm stuck with beautiful but very impractical dishes.

These dishes are beautiful and will go with everything.
My only complaint would be that the large plates have too much of an upward curve so that they do not fit well into the dishwasher. They need to have a space between each plate so you can wash half the amount of regular round dishes or the smaller square plates which fit fine.
I haven't noticed any scratches yet as they are new but my Pfaltzgraff dishes are a mess with scratches. If it becomes a problem I will switch from 18/10 to 18/0 flatware.

I love this pattern and registered for it for my wedding. I'm sad to see it go. You can dress it up or down depending on the occasion. I'm sad to see such a simple but elegant, timeless pattern be retired.

My husband and I wished for this product on our wedding registry 1.6 years ago and we are so glad we did. We love our Noritake dishes! They are hard to break -not that we are trying- and hold up well to every day use such as the occasional drop of a plate to the use of a dishwasher. They can be placed in the oven and do not stain when sauces are placed in them. The one thing I don't like is that saran wrap does not stick to the bowls or the plates. This is my only problem with the dishes-it would make storing leftovers much easier if saran wrap could be placed on the dishes and remain there. I have found using a large rubber band helps in securing saran wrap but it would be much easier if it would just stick to it. Other than that, it is beautiful, holds up well for every day use and my husband and I are so glad that we received this wonderful gift for our wedding!
