Even though the description says it was pre-seasoned; the bacon I cooked on first use, stuck horribly. I found the care and use instructions on the underside of the cardboard label and had to re-season by following the instructions. I like the extra handle it has for lifting it off the stove with two hands as it is too heavy to lift using one handle.

I adore Bobby Flay and was excited about purchasing an iron skillet endorsed by him. Apparently Bobby Flay has never cooked with this skillet. The depth is about 2 inches, most other skillets are 3+ inches. The skillet was supposed be pre-seasoned, but my first use was cooking bacon the bacon stuck horribly. Forget about what happened to the eggs. The surface on other iron skillets is smooth, this skillet has a tiny pebbled surface. I ended up having to soak the skillet in soapy water to get the stuck eggs and bacon off, and had to reseason the surface by using oil, then placing in the oven for 1 hour. Bobby is the brunch expert, maybe he needs to come over, and try using this piece of garbage.

Oh my goodness... how did I not know about cooking on a cast iron skillet?? I currently live in an apartment with no access to a grill, but just cooked the best steak I've ever made on this pan.
Seasoned it with a little flaky salt, let it rest on the counter so it wasn't super cold when I cooked it, heated up the pan to med-high heat, added about 1.5T butter before, another 1.5T midway, cooked steak 4 min each side (it was a thick steak), put it right in the oven in the pan still to broil for 5min. MMM no steak sauce necessary because it was flavorful as can be. Thank you Bobby Flay!!
