I've used wooden racks, and they often have splintering, or stain wet clothes. This metal one is smooth, very sturdy and easy to set up. The cutout in the bracket on the top where you hook it onto the top bar can be sharp in places. I like that it folds down small enough to store when not in use. It costs more than the others, but I don't want to have to ever buy another one.

We have had numerous clothes drying racks over the years. There are certain clothes I just don't put in the dryer. This is the best one ever. Easy to store, lightweight) for raising up on top of the freezer during cold weather. Great finish. Clothes have no "fold mark" when taken down. I totally recommend to anyone.

This is not your cheap, run-of-the-mill drying rack. The 2 top rungs actually snap together very solidly (the cheap wood ones can collapse at inopportune moments, because they slip together very loosely). The whole thing is very sturdily built. The rungs are not wood, so no snagging of delicate items. Plenty of rack space for drying many items at once. It has a pretty small footprint, which is very nice if your laundry room is not huge.

This is working out to be a very useful item to have around.
