Twin grandsons love learning about the planets with this puzzle. The 48 piece puzzle is perfect for the attention span of a five year old.

My 3-5 year old students love this puzzle and they put it together frequently. However, as I try to explain the solar system to them while looking at the puzzle, it is difficult. The "view" of the puzzle doesn't accurately depict the size and scope of the solar system. For instance, Earth is the largest planet and is nearly the size of the sun. Neptune is right next to the Sun when it is the furthest from it. It has sparked good discussion, however, and is a subject we might not have touched on if it weren't for the puzzle.

This is a beautiful puzzle. The colors are so spectacular that keeps my grandson interested as he works his way through. He was three and a half when it arrived and six months later he is still interested. He has always been good at puzzles so this is not overly challenging but it is educational and always enjoyable. The pieces are large which makes it easier to learn and set in place. We bought this with the Solar System floor puzzle which also has the vibrant colors. No complaints.

We've had this puzzle for 3 years and I'm here to buy another one as a birthday gift for a friend. It's held up great at our house! It's been put together and taken apart dozens of times, stepped on, kicked around and it still looks great. The box is a bit torn up, but that's tough to avoid. If anything, I wish M&D would make their puzzle boxes a tiny bit larger, but that's a minor inconvenience.
